WinIP

The WinIP family is the first generation of Wintegra solution for the Carrier Grade Ethernet market.  From a silicon technology perspective, WinIP is based on the WinPath2 family architecture.   WinIP implements advanced Ethernet, MPLS and IP-based protocol handling features that go beyond the simple processing that is possible with Ethernet Switches.

The WinIP family is available in configurations with only Ethernet interfaces, as well as configuration that provide a small number of TDM (T1/E1) connections.    Common uses for the TDM connections on the WinIP family are to provide protocol interworking from legacy TDM ports to IP/Ethernet, as well as to provide pseudo-wire end-to-end emulation (PWE3) of TDM ports over an Ethernet network.

WinIP may be used in Metro Ethernet edge devices and Ethernet demarcation devices in applications from wireless backhaul to Ethernet in the first mile.  WinIP is available in 4 and 6 engine configurations, offering advanced IP packet processing functionality at a reasonable price.
