Wintegra successfully demonstrates IEEE1588-2008 interoperability at ISPCS 2009 Plug-fest

Wintegra adds IEEE 1588 support to access processors that service Carrier Ethernet as well as legacy TDM/ATM applications

Austin, TX, October 20, 2009.   Wintegra, a market leader in access processing semiconductors announced today the successful interoperability testing of its integrated IEEE1588 solution with other participants at the 2009 International IEEE Symposium on Precision Clock Synchronization (ISPCS) for Measurement, Control and Communication "plug-fest" recently held in Brescia, Italy.

Plug-fests provide a unique environment for system solution providers to evaluate their interoperability with a wide range of other device or equipment manufacturers.    Timing and synchronization are tested over live packet networks to evaluate functionality such as frequency synchronization or Time of Day synchronization.

"The ISPCS "plug-fest" provides a great opportunity for device and equipment vendors to demonstrate their interoperability with other manufacturers so customers can feel confident on the ease of deployment of these solutions," said Avi Hagai Director of Engineering at Wintegra.  "The latest Winpath devices have integrated hardware circuitry to provide highly accurate IEEE 1588 timestamps, yet offer programmability and flexibility."

With integrated support for IEEE1588 and Synchronous Ethernet, and together with feature-rich Carrier Ethernet and PWE3 functionalities, WinPath network processors offer a high integrated and low cost solution ideal for mobile base-station or backhaul applications.  Wintegra's IEEE1588 solution is available today.  For more information see www.wintegra.com.
