Wintegra Launches Complete Market Leading DSL System Solution

San Jose-October 20, 2003-WintegraTM Inc., a fabless semiconductor company focused on the access infrastructure market, will announce this week at NPC West, a complete DSL software solution for its WinPath family of access packet processors.  This integrated package incorporates Wintegra's highly optimized WinPath silicon devices and factory verified datapath code, and is tightly coupled with a rich suite of Layer 2 and Layer 3 control plane code.  With this combination of silicon and software, DSL customers can acquire a complete silicon and software package from Wintegra as a "shrink-wrapped" solution, or add customer-specific differentiation and get to market much sooner than with non-integrated solutions.  This offering provides customers a solution that is customer and factory validated, further enabling early market acceptance of their DSL designs.

Wintegra's new control plane software offers DSL system designers another means to facilitate quicker time-to-market.  Wintegra has provided market leading, factory and customer verified datapath code since the company's inception.  For the DSL market, Wintegra provides advanced datapath features such as NAT, VLAN, and IP multicast, and enhanced deep classification.  Now Wintegra can offer an equally complete control plane package for DSL customers.  These control plane packages are available as source code for easy integration into customers systems and have been validated by years of customer usage plus laboratory verification.  This complete solution is scalable and runs on all the WinPath DSL devices, making them well suited for line cards, uplink cards, and "pizza boxes."  The control plane code was developed by FutureSoft, a leading provider of protocol stacks and engineering services, and was sub-licensed by Wintegra.

"The DSLAM market requirements on performance, flexibility and affordability have evolved with single-chip solutions being critical to the development of high-performance DSLAM equipment," says Sarbpreet Singh, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at FutureSoft.  "Our alignment with Wintegra's WinPathTM to provide a tightly coupled offering of silicon with integrated software is driven by our customers' critical need to realize better value as well as reduce time-to-market. Further to control plane software, we can also integrate additional protocol components on Wintegra solutions and provide customization services to address to specific requirements."

"By combining the FutureSoft Control Plane offering with Wintegra's market-leading datapath code and silicon, customers have a very compelling solution for quick time-to-market DSL designs," said Robert O'Dell, Wintegra's VP of Marketing.  "Our new DSL system solution is very robust and provides customers a turn-key, high performance, cost effective DSLAM package."
